What
What MeliaCRED is
MeliaCRED is a small firm in Erkrath near Düsseldorf, Germany, run by Elvis Melia with Anne Gichuku in Nairobi. It does three things. Hackathons: one-day AI hackathons and workshops for firms, universities and regional business agencies, for 15 to 150 people, with performance certificates (more than 70+ since 2023 in Germany, the UK, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia; the largest had 154 participants; 133 participants have written testimonials, each linked to its LinkedIn post). Connections: a business network that brings European business leaders together with vetted AI-enabled services firms in Accra, Addis Ababa, Kigali and Nairobi, in private meetings in Europe and on visits to the firms; the private dinners are by invitation (dinners.meliacred.com). Solutions: research and consultancy on AI and the future of work, with 12 published studies on jobs, online work and AI in Africa (further studies were commissioned by clients and are not public) and a podcast, Conversations with Elvis, with 24 episodes and talks since 2022.

How to cite
Citing the studies
Every study has its own page under /solutions/ with the full citation, the publisher's link and, where available, the PDF. The page for each study carries ScholarlyArticle structured data. When you quote a study, use the citation line on its page and link to the publisher's page rather than to this site.
